The first group of foals have raised the bar at the Zangersheide Quality Auction on Friday night. Only last year the foal auction in Lanaken broke world-records with the highest selling colt and average prices and this year a new record is set yet again with a top selling filly. Camilla JL Z sold for no less than 200.000 euro, breaking the Zangersheide record of highest selling foal.
Camilla JL Z (Cornet Obolensky x Nabab de Reve) is a daughter of Jos Lansink’s Olympic mare Valentina van ‘t Heike. The beautiful bay filly set pulses racing in the auction and by the end of the bidding contest found new Polish owners.
The fillies overall sold very-well this evening with an average price of 50.353 euro. The colts raised an average selling price of 36.050 euro. A total of 37 foals went under the hammer and ranked up a top average price of 42.622 euro.
Two other foals were knocked down for top prices as well. Hong Kong des Premices Z (Heartbreaker x Carthago) sold to Germany for 86.000,- and Cibelle de Nyze Z (Chacco-Blue x Heartbreaker) will remain in Belgium for 82.000,-
With buyers from all over the world tuning in, there is no surprise the foals have found new owners all over the globe. As far away as the Unites States of America and closer to home with multiple foals remaining in Belgium and others leaving for Denmark, France, Italy, Austria and the Netherlands.
On the first auction night on Thursday, 14 young horses went under the hammer. With the first group of foals also auctioned off, there is one more evening of the Quality Auction left on Saturday evening, starting 19h30.
