While many horse auctions take place online, Belgian Youngsters Auction dares to present the horses live in free jumping to the audience. On Saturday-night 30 September the Belgian Youngsters Auction will take place during the always popular ‘Championat de Wallonie de Saut en Liberté’ in Ghlin, Belgium.

This will be the third edition of Belgian Youngsters Auction and with the live free jumping fulfills a wish it always had. “In Zandhoven and Bonheiden there was no possibility to do this safely and well, but in Ghlin it will happen. They have a splendid indoor arena which that weekend will be used for the foal shows and free jumping competitions for 2- and 3-yr-olds. It is the biggest breeding event in Wallonia”, says Valentijn De Bock, together with Luk Van Puymbroeck and Daniel Boudrenghien the organisers of the auction.

The trio has a sound reputation and has selected 21 young showjumping horses. The youngest is Veloo VHL (Orak d’Hamwyck x Cumthago C), winner of the ‘King’s Medal’ of the 2-yr-old showjumping horses in Gesves. There are also some 3- and 4-yr-olds.

The Qerly Chin family is represented, but also the Klapscheut, Van ’t Merelsnest and Sitte lines. The 3-yr-old Baila d’Elsendam Z (Bamako de Muze) for example, is out of the full sister of the licensed 1.60m GP stallion Aristosteles V (Padinus). The 3-yr-old stallion Uderzo Z (Untouchable) comes from the line of Cassini I, the 4-yr-old Tess van de Ravershoek (Bamako de Muze) is closely related to GCT GP London-winner Don Juan van de Donkhoeve.

“We also have a very interestingly bred and well jumping mare by Uricas vd Kattenvenne, a magnificent Poker de Mariposa, two sons of Eldorado van de Zeshoek, a daughter of Mylord Carthago… Showjumping blood that is in high demand. It is an interesting collection. They are not only very well-bred, but they can jump as well”, says Valentijn De Bock.
