Mario Everse and Alan Waldman can again look back at a successful edition of Youhorse.auction. Perhaps it was the most diverse auction so far and, in addition, divided over two days. Before the second auction night, Mario Everse expected Qointreau van ’t Hoogeinde to be the auction topper and he was right: the 6-yr-old Stakkato son went for 36,000 euro.
After the 35 auction lots on Monday-night, a comparable number was knocked down on Tuesday 6 September. Mario Everse says: “We also had a good auction on the second night, with even slightly higher prices. Our main objective is that the auction brings satisfied buyers and sellers and we managed to do so for two days in a row.”
Experience pays
The 6-yr-old Qointreau van ’t Hoogeinde (Stakkato x Echo van ’t Spieveld) going for 36,000 euro was the highlight of the auction. The gelding has meanwhile accumulated good mileage in the showjumping ring and, besides, comes from an excellent background. His grandam is the full sister to the licensed Grand Prix stallion Erco van ’t Roosakker. “It was to be expected that this horse, with his experience in the international sport and fantastic pedigree, would be sold very well. Pleasant detail is that he does not have to travel far. The brand-new owner lives close to the seller!”, says a smiling Mario Everse.
The 8-yr-old Jeleonald van de Eijkhof (Calvaro x Vigaro) was knocked down for 35,000 euro and will move to Belgium. “Here, again, it turns out that experience and a good pedigree will pay”, Mario Everse explains.
Olympic stables
After Tuesday, Switzerland has several more talented horses. Both the 4-yr-old El Campione Z (El Barone 111 Z x Nixon) and his contemporary Nikita JB (I’m Special de Muze x Contender) can try their luck under the Swiss flag. One Swiss buyer even managed to score a double and claim the 4-yr-old horses Very Nice (Vesuv x Rhytmo) and Nightingale DMH (Vannan x Napels) for 20,000 euro and 32,000 euro, respectively.
The 3-yr-old Bianca (Casall x Cassini I) enjoyed the interest from three different continents. For 28,000 euro she will travel to New Zealand. A German buyer acquired future perspective with the 5-yr-old Miola VHS (Herald 3 x Chin Chin) and the 3-yr-old Nestor D’Alphi (Ice Man du Houssoit x Felix de Septon). Mario Everse will reveal this: “They will both go to the stables of an Olympic rider that has bought horses in our auction before.”
Selection days
Every first Tuesday of the month, Youhorse.auction organizes an auction and that means that preparations for the October edition are already in full swing. “We are known for our good offer of exclusive showjumping horses, specifically young horses that jump well in free jumping and above average horses under saddle. We have meanwhile developed a good networ. What is most appreciated by the buyers is the accessibility of an online auction, plus, of course, the wide and varied collections. All the enthusiastic reactions afterwards taste of more. So, up to the next auction!”, concludes Mario Everse.
The selection- and video-day will be next Monday 12 September organized at Stal Everse in Waddinxveen. Entry is still possible.
