On Wednesday the 28th of September, the Limburg Foal Auction offers an excellent opportunity to invest in future (top) show jumpers. In the 22nd edition of their auction, more than 80 show jumping bred foals will be auctioned by Koen Olaerts in the Peelbergen Equestrian Centre (NL). The majority of them are closely related to international show jumpers and have the potential to follow in the footsteps of references such as Ginger-Blue, Van Gogh, Ermindo-W and H&M Extra.
In the traditional auction, which is organized the day after the Dutch Sport Horse Sales, more than 80 jumping foals will be auctioned in Kronenberg. Afterwards, another 40 foals can exchange owners via the online auction, where bids can be made on September the 29th and 30th.
Future talents
The selection committee, consisting of Paul and Michel Hendrix, Cor Loeffen and Stan Creemers, was able to select a strong collection this year, thanks to a large group of breeders. The collection includes foals bred from international performing dams, half-brothers or -sisters of horses that are already performing at the highest level, and offspring of both promising stallions and proven progenitors. Foals with outstanding pedigrees are for example Carlsberg van WW (Chacco-Blue x Kashmir van Schuttershof), who -as a son of the 1.45m level competing mare Imke van ‘t Roosakker- is a half-brother of the very striking WEG showjumper Nelson van ‘t Roosakker. Bred out of a half-sister of the Olympic and WEG medal winner Beauville Z is the Colorit Z colt Carlos Z and the filly Alice Z (s.Aganix du Seigneur) was bred out of a half-sister of Beth Underhill’s outstanding WEG show jumper Nikka vd Bishop. In the pedigree of Such A Diamond, the genetically very valuable European Championship medalist Le Blue Diamond van ‘t Ruytershof is coupled to a half-sister of Ben Maher’s Grand Prix winner Ginger-Blue and the Colorit Z colt Charlie Z was bred out of a half-sister of World Cup winner Chaplin of Martin Fuchs. And what about the Emerald van ‘t Ruytershof colt Encore d’Grandin Z, who was bred out of a half-sister of the Grand Prix stallion Vagabond de la Pomme that has already produced three international 1.45/1.50m level showjumpers.
