With a successful Christmas edition Youhorse.auction closed the year 2023 in form. The strong collection of 63 horses received keen attention from as many as 22 different countries. The 10-yr-old Ike may call himself the last auction topper of the year. This gelding with experience at (inter)national 1.45m level went to Sweden for 65,000 euro.
“We are quite satisfied. This is a very nice end of the year! We sold a great many horses and even broke the record with buyers of 22 different nationalities. It is remarkable how people from all over the world manage to find our auction and have confidence in us. Naturally we are working hard on that, together with our whole team. For example, we are transparant with the vet reports and try to add as much information as possible in our auction texts. It is great that this effort is so much appreciated. This would not be possible, of course, without our sellers and buyers. We would hereby like to thank them for their confidence”, says organiser Mario Everse.
Ike to Swedish professional
The star of the evening was Ike (Big Star x Burggraaf). The 10-yr-old gelding has already jumped at 1.45m level and will continue his career, for 65,000 euro, under a Swedish professional showjumping rider.
The KWPN approved stallion Interest (Andiamo x Concorde) will cross the ocean to Mexico for 55,000 euro. The 10-yr-old Indio (Kannan x Burggraaf) was knocked down for the same amount, but will stay closer to home. He, like the 11-yr-old Hero (Bodinus x Corland), will go to stables in Germany. The German buyers were making a night of it, anyway, with nine purchases.
The 5-yr-old gelding Paco (Kassander van ’t Roosakker x Galoubet A) went to a Canadian buyer. A buyer from the United Arabian Emirates favoured the 8-yr-old mare Kornetta (Cornet Obolensky x Carthago). Two horses will go to Surinam: the 4-yr-olds Cyrano du Grand Routheux (Cyrano d’Orbri) and Oester (Quasimodo Z). Also Kuwait claimed two horses, including Jolavsca Fortuna (Carrera VDL). The 5-yr-old Campione B (Cascadello I) will travel to Australia.
New Year’s auction
The end of the year in sight, the organization is already looking ahead to 2024. “In the new year we will continue the well-proven recipe: every first Tuesday of the month we have an auction. We are already very busy behind the screens, for we will start the new year with another collection of good showjumping horses. Tuesday 2 January the first auction of 2024 will close. This collection will be online from this Saturday. We even have an extra auction from 13 to 16 January where breeding will take a central position. Any people with an interesting broodmare or embryo can still enter for the video- and selection day on 28 December. For now, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and hope to see you back again in 2024!”, Mario Everse concludes.
