“Yes, it will be busy, but it’s a wonderful combination. We are really looking forward to it. Our collection this year is even better and more tailored to what customers are looking for,” says Suus Kuyten. “Experience has shown that people sometimes find it challenging to assess the potential of a relatively inexperienced four-year-old. That’s why all four-year-old and older horses now have show experience. We also have more three-year-olds this year because of high demand, and the oldest horses are six years old, with some having achieved excellent results at international level.”
All the horses have been thoroughly vetted by a veterinarian. “Customers should be able to buy with confidence during the auction, without being surprised by an unsatisfactory veterinary report afterward. We’ve been very strict about that. All inspections meet the standards for sport.”
Suus Kuyten and Harrie Wiering compete at the highest levels of the sport themselves and they know what it takes to develop a young horse. This expertise has been a cornerstone in curating the collection. “The great thing is, there’s something for everyone. We have horses with international experience, horses suited for professionals, amateurs, equitation riders and hunters. And for those who love a splash of color, we have a good jumping pinto too.”
The auction features horses from renowned damlines such as Qerly Chin, Centa de Muze, Cordula de Laubry and Van ‘t Roosakker. Six stallions in the collection are licensed for breeding, including the impressively jumping Rhandy Turfhorst (Chacco Blue x Bentley van de Heffinck), a three-year-old grandson of Babbe van ’t Roosakker.
Suus Kuyten has high expectations for this group of horses. Among them are the six-year-old Coldplay SK Stables Z (Cicero Z Van Paemel x Eldorado van de Zeshoek), known for his exceptional quality and scope; the talented five-year-old Timber van ’t Looveryck (Chacoon Blue x Chin Chin) and the four-year-old NRPS-approved stallion Ukato-K van Kattenheye (Ducati van Schuttershof x Indoctro), an athletic horse with all the scope.
There are also high hopes for the three-year-old Vegas van ’t Koningsbos (Conthargos x Kannan), a grandson of Centa de Muze.
The horses will be available for trials from December 7 through December 12. Due to the overwhelming number of guests at last year’s auction, this year’s event will be invitation-only. Interested parties can register via the website and look forward to a showcase of entertainment, great food and drinks, incredible horses and a festive atmosphere wrapped in Christmas spirit.
